Overall excellent. The Manager, Bill, physically reviewed the site and we discussed and he advised me of the options. His suggestions for what products to purchase and the design were very good. After research, I decided on a total of 20 Aiko solar panels and FoxESS CQ7 42kW battery. His quotation for the job was price competitive and references were excellent. The installers arrived on the agreed scheduled date. They reviewed and discussed the design with me and did a professional, high quality installation that met the agreed design. I’d highly recommend Defended for solar and battery installation. From the very first contact, the whole experience was excellent.
Bill was the first person to visit my home and assess the best system for my budget. He gave me great advice, particularly around the battery location and the option of installing it internally rather than outside. I also decided to upgrade my panels and inverter for a relatively small additional cost, which I’m very happy I did.
The site manager, Suleiman, was exceptional. He’s very clever and knowledgeable for his years and orchestrated the entire installation in a calm, organised and professional manner. All of his team were equally friendly and respectful, and the finished installation was super clean.
For me, the biggest thing was peace of mind.
Hassan also deserves a special mention. He called before the installation and went through everything with me, including the battery backup setup. This is something that really needs to be organised during the installation, not afterwards, as I’ve heard others unfortunately find out the hard way. Hassan also followed up a couple of weeks later just to make sure everything was working properly and to see if I had any questions. That level of follow-up was greatly appreciated.
I went with the Fox ESS CQ7 battery (42kWh) and 15kW inverter, along with Aiko panels. The all-black panels look great and suit my house perfectly.
Overall, I’m extremely happy with the system, the installation and, most importantly, the service from the entire Defended team.
